Indo-Swiss Building Energy Efficiency Project

The Indo-Swiss Building Energy Efficiency Project (BEEP) is a bilateral cooperation between the Ministry of Power (MoP), Government of India and the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) of the Swiss Confederation. The Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) is the Implementing agency on behalf of the MoP while the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) is the agency on behalf of FDFA.

The successful implementation of the project during 2011-2016, resulted in the two governments agreeing to extend the MoU. Hence, the extension of the MoU for a follow-up phase of BEEP was signed in the month of November 2016. The MoUs for the follow-up phase were exchanged between the two countries on 28th November 2016 at the BEEP International Conference in the presence of Mr. Piyush Goyal, the Minister of State (IC) for Power, Coal, New & Renewable Energy, Mines, Govt. of India.

About Indo-Swiss BEEP: Follow-up Phase (2018-2021)

The follow up phase of BEEP plans to focus on providing effective outreach and mainstream key methodologies, guidelines, tools, indigenous technical solutions, training modules developed under BEEP, so as to reach out to a critical mass of private and public-sector stakeholders. In addition, this phase will extend its work to strengthen architecture and engineering education system on Energy-Efficient and Thermally Comfortable (EETC) buildings, providing technical assistance to develop building energy efficiency regulations for residential buildings and developing new technical tools and solutions.
