Use of dynamic simulation programs for designing of building is increasing fast in India. However, there are still some danger in using simulation programs such as use of simulation program without expertise, lack of understanding of the results, lack of control of the hypothesis and assumptions, error in the inputs and inappropriate use of simulation programs. Also, there is very limited capacity among Indian professionals in energy simulation of new and complex building technologies.

He has more than 30 years of experience in integration and implementation of passive energy efficient strategies, innovative space conditioning technologies in buildings and energy efficiency in data centres/ industries. In Switzerland, he has developed the energy concept for outstanding sustainable buildings such as the Rolex Learning Centre or the National Office for Statistics. Pierre has been working in India since the early 80s. In 2008, in collaboration with Indian partners, he initiated a large cross-sectoral programme to improve energy efficiency in buildings in India, with the financial support of the Swiss Development Cooperation Agency.
