Component 1 of the Indo-Swiss Building Energy Efficiency Project aims to achieve transfer of know-how in integrated design and high-performance energy concept development. One of the most effective ways of following an integrated design process is to organize a design charrette or workshop with all the stakeholders of the building design viz., client, developer, architect, engineering teams, project manager etc., at the early design phase.
The objective of the training programme for Indian Charrette conductors is to build capacities of practising Indian building design professional teams with minimum 8 years’ of experience to effectively practice integrated design process by conducting integrated design charrettes. This is a residential programme.
The training programme is envisaged for teams of 2 or 3 members consisting of an architect, a HVAC/energy engineer, and potentially a project manager. Each team preferably should include at least an engineer and an architect.
