India and most other ancient civilisations had a rich history of climate responsive building design and application of appropriate technologies to provide thermal comfort. In the current context of high population density, vertical construction, warming climate, the adaptation and improvisation of new technologies to supplement traditional technologies has become necessary. There is also a need for new design tools to help design energy efficient buildings.
